Advanced Geriatrics Skills Training (AGES)
The Advanced GEriatrics Skills (AGES) program is a continuing education course that increases the geriatrics competency of all health professionals who care for and/or work with older adults. It contains an evidence-based curriculum that is presented in a comprehensive modular format that enhances the skills and understanding of major geriatric syndromes and diseases, psycho social and ethical issues in aging, as well as, interprofessional models of care.
The overall goal of the AGES Training is to promote excellence in the practice, teaching and care of older adults and extend the understanding of aging; while strengthening the professional skills of health professionals who work with older adults. The target audience includes: physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, physical therapists, social workers and others who are actively caring for and/or working with older patients/clients. Students and residents will have their registration fees waived.
The WVGEC is in progress of planning the 2019 AGES program.
